My Story

I was not a consultant in 1996, nor had I had a decade of helping people lose weight and overcome their health problems, which I do today. Nor was I qualified with diplomas in nutrition. Till 1996 I constantly battled with weight. An enormous 160 kgs, I could barely walk a few steps without getting breathless.

Today, a hundred kilos lighter, I now practice as an obesity and health consultant in Mumbai. My journey from unfit and overweight to obese and lethargic to finally energetic, light and happy was tough but life-altering. In fact it saved my life! I learned so much through this journey that I knew my real calling is to help people in similar situations and to show them that they too can regain the health, strength and vitality that we all deserve.

I have been through numerous diets and dieticians. From hospitalizations to health farms, from high protein shakes to over-exercise I tried it all. I always lost weight, but I regained it all back and much more. My experiences taught me how I could be healthy by enjoying real, quality food in good amounts. I did not need to starve or deprive myself. I just had to commit to myself, stay strong and jump back on the bandwagon whenever I might have wavered. Along the way, I celebrated my successes and learnt from every failure.

My journey, though long and painful was simply about the right food combinations without starvation and eating familiar food.

My goal is not just to help people lose (or gain) weight or overcome disease. It’s also to educate clients and help them joyfully inculcate healthy living for the rest of their lives. I always DARE my clients—that is I make delicious and responsible eating a part of their routines. At the same time I also encourage them to move their bodies as much as they can.

For the last decade I have successfully worked with hundreds of clients, helping them achieve their personal health and wellness goals. I also work with corporates, food manufacturers, schools, television shows, magazines and hospitals across the country.

My main aim is to help people help themselves and to realize that good health is not a gift we receive, but a birthright we need to live up to.
